Once there was a father who lived with his two sons. He loved his sons very much that he always made sure they were happy under his care.

Being a carpenter by profession, the father spent most of his time in his workshop.

One day the father was very much tired. He came looking for his sons for help and called them out by their names. And as he entered his house, He found his elder son was completely lost in watching TV and enjoying his popcorn. The father smiled and said to himself “let me not disturb”. But even as he was standing there, the younger son came to his father and asked  if everything was okay, for it was unusual for him to see the father home at that time of the day. When the father asked if he could give a hand, the younger son gladly accepted considering it a joy to serve his father than to enjoy the things provided by his father. Anyhow, the work was now completed and there was plenty time left and so the father decided to take his sons out.  The younger son was ready to go as he was with his father. So the father went to call the eldest son but when the father saw him still enjoying the TV, he smiled and said to himself 'let me not disturb' and walked away gently with his younger son.

Dear child in Christ, God is a loving God and he always loves to see His children enjoy the good pleasures that he has created for them. Remember the story of creation how God created the heavens and the earth with all the living and the non living creatures in them and everything is unique and good. For who do you think he created it all? It was all for you,that you will enjoy His mighty handwork. It is not wrong to enjoy the goodness and the blessings of God but enjoying the goodness alone and forgetting the good God is what we need to worry about. Because a true loving son enjoys the father himself than the father's blessings. His priority is his father and he is least bothered of the other things because he knows his father will take care of it all. Our God is a gentle God. He will only knock expecting the door to be opened but He will never break open it, He will only walk away leaving us to our choice. And on that day He returns, He will take with him the ones who chose him rather than the blessings, the ones that are His.

So let us be the true loving children with our eyes always fixed upon the most loving father than the blessings.

As the apostle Paul says in Colossians 3:1-4

1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
