The Process of Receiving and Interpreting God’s Word

Every time you receive a Word from God or He desires to work through you, He first deposits His Word into your spirit.

Before you interpret that Word in the flesh through speech, it passes through your soul. If our souls are corrupted, defiled, or unsanctified, we lose clarity on what God is trying to reveal.

This becomes dangerous because God’s Word may then be altered—either by adding to it or removing parts of what He originally placed in our spirits.

The process looks like this:

God speaks His Word → It enters your spirit → It passes through your soul before reaching your flesh → It is then interpreted and spoken out through your mouth.

If our souls are not sanctified, we risk making foolish mistakes that could hinder our destinies.

Obedience to the truth and the Word of God has the power to sanctify your soul.

The enemy knows that if we lose our sanctification, he can block or delay the work God is doing in us and through us.

Sanctification happens through the blood of Christ (Hebrews 13:12) and the Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:11)

However, there is also an inner sanctification of our souls that occurs through our obedience to God’s will (1 Peter 1:22).

This is one of the key reasons sanctified, born-again believers make wrong choices in life even to the extent of convincing themselves something is God’s will when it actually isn’t. This is due to the lack of continued sanctified lifestyle (failure to take up the cross daily).

A continual sanctification of our soul, our will and emotions is fed by our act of obedience, our response, to God’s Word, and His will.

A Prayer for Obedience

Dear Lord Jesus,

We humble ourselves before Your throne and ask You to fill us with Your Spirit of obedience and surrender so that we may fully receive and walk in the gifts You have prepared for us. May our destinies be birthed and fulfilled, in Your name, we pray,
