Many times we wonder how to praise a woman! A woman is always remembered for her virtues. The Holy Bible among other things has devoted a whole chapter (Proverbs 31) praising the qualities of a virtuous woman. The most admired qualities are: “Strength and honour (are) her clothing; She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue (is) the law of kindness; A woman (that) feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
The word “virtue” is a more misunderstood term in society. The word “virtue” literally means “moral excellence” the antonym being “vice”. Good virtues bring abundant blessing. But what are the challenges faced by a virtuous woman of today?
The (imprisoned) woman of yester years has been replaced by a more liberated woman of today. Her role as an obedient wife, a faithful daughter-in-law and an ever loving mother in a male dominant joint family system of the past has been replaced by an economically and socially independent, liberated and elite woman of today who would go as high as president of a country, CEO and accredited professionals even a daring fighter pilot.
