“Very truly I tell you," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!” John 8:58

It was 400 years of silence before a child was born in this world with wondrous signs and Angels visiting the earth from the presence of God. The birth of Jesus was heavenly and a miracle, only to few. The wise men from the east carried Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh as a worship offering to this child that was born. They searched this child in the palace. This child was expected to be born and raised as a king in the palace and as a warrior who would save his people from the clutches of evil.

In the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:1-2

But He was not born in a King’s palace but in an unnoticed lowly manger. If He is the promised king of Jews, why was He not born in the palace, where He will be celebrated as a king? Now He is a son of a carpenter. He grew up among the poor people feeding 5000 people with just five barley loaves and two small fish. He walked among the needy healing the lepers, the blind, the lame and raising the dead. He went around preaching the good news about the Kingdom of God. He never had a throne nor a crown.

Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head." Luke 9:58

In His nomadic life there came a day when he visited the palace, not being praised as a king but accused as a blasphemer. He was sent to Pilate and then to Herod for the trial. Pilate said, “Ye have brought this man unto me, as one that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye accuse him” Luke 23:14. But the people, among whom He lived and did miracles cried, “Crucify him, crucify him.” Luke 23:21. Jesus was sentenced to crucifixion. He was not carried on the chariot in the streets of Jerusalem as a king, but He carried the cross in the streets of Jerusalem on which He was crucified. They crucified Him on the cross with a note on the cross saying, “This Is The King Of The Jews”.

Yes indeed, He is the King of the Jews and of the whole world. He was there even before the world and everything in it was created. “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17. But He never came to sit on a throne and rule but to save those who are lost. Dears in Christ, be imitators of Christ Jesus.

The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
