Dearly Beloved Friend,

Did you know that this year is a special year to you?

Why do I say that?

May the Lord work several wonders this year, so you will testify that 2023 is indeed a special year.

I pray that God will complete all your unfulfilled dreams and incomplete projects in this new year.

May He give you the favour with men both great and small and satisfy your soul with the true joy.

Usually, once God plays His part, He expects man to play man’s part.

A great man of God said, “If you do the possible, God will do the impossible.”So, if you and I will not do the possible, God will not do the impossible.

What should you do this year to inherit God’s promises this year? Let me list a few. And, if you know there are other specific things God expects you to do, take heed to carefully finish all that God requires you to do.

You have no better work than to do what God wants you to do.

1. Whether you understand or not, please read the book of Zechariah at least a few times. It doesn’t matter if you find it hard to understand – slowly read it again and again.
2. God is going to pour His Spirit without measure on every believer. God wants to use you and make you spiritually strong no matter who you are. The very reason you are still reading this blog is because, God is going to use you in a special way. You may be a schoolteacher, or you may call yourself an ordinary housewife or a small-scale businessman, or physically challenged – no matter who you are, you are special in this move of God. God is willing to use every one. Did a man or a woman create you? If you believe you are fearfully and wonderfully created by your God, then what makes you listen to a mortal man and feel low about yourself? Stop the way you have been living your life so far and make decisions today to fulfill God’s purposes over your life and become a dumb person to any word of discouragement from or through man.
3. If you wish to be a Christian and wish to continue being a Christian in these last days, you must spiritually become very strong. Christ must be fully formed in you no matter who you are. I am not speaking to servants of God here. I am speaking to ordinary believers of Christ. If you say you are a Christian – you must become extremely strong in your spirit to survive these days, and this is also the will of God.
4. Pray always – this is the most important thing in this entire blog as this is how Christ can be fully formed in you. Stay/remain connected with God always. Playing Christian music with a loudspeaker is not praying unless your heart and mind are totally connected with the Holy Spirit.
   Yes, you must have dedicated hours of prayer (in your closet without any distraction as the Lord Jesus commanded – Matthew 6:6), but you must remain in prayer/meditation in your heart even while you do your everyday duty including work, etc.
   Verses that command a believer to pray always – (Luke 18:1; Luke 21:36; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Ephesians 6:18)
   Verses about meditating on the Word day and night – (Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2)

Finally, a few prayer points from Zechariah’s vision of the two olive trees recorded in chapter 4:

1. Pray for God’s servants.
   If the golden lampstand (the church) needs to be burning always there must be the ceaseless flow of oil (Holy Spirit) from the two olive trees (the anointed ones). If the enemy can disconnect the tree (anointed ones) and the golden lampstand (church) – the oil (Holy Spirit) will stop flowing. If the Holy Spirit is not flowing into your life, you will perish. The enemy knows this very well – Zechariah 13:7 “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered” Pray that God will protect our shepherds (five-fold ministry, particularly the pastors). If our shepherds are protected, we (the sheep) remain protected.
2. Pray for unity among the body of Christ, especially among God’s servants. God could have used just 1 olive tree to feed the church, but God uses 2 olive trees, which shows that it’s teamwork and not a one-man show. So, there must be unity among servants of God.

My friend, if you play your part by doing the possible, God will play His part by doing the impossible.

God’s Word to Zerubabbel is God’s Word to you as well. Zechariah 4:6 “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.
