The Nature of GOD

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

Let us meditate on the nature of GOD given in the above verse. Exodus 34 explains how the LORD Himself descended on the mountain top to reveal Himself to Moses and His people and reveals His nature. We must always be reminded that CHRSIT’s suffering & death not only forgives us from our sins and the past but also gives us the future to be transformed in to the very image of CHRIST.

CHRIST lived and showed us the very depth of GOD’s nature in flesh.

The call has also come upon us to live what CHRIST Himself lived and this is the only reason that CHRIST’s SPIRIT has come to dwell in us today- to make us live like CHRIST. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps (1 Peter 2:21)

If you call yourself a Christian, Is showing mercy a part of your life? CHRIST shows mercy and grace by not only forgiving your sins and erases your past but He makes you a son/daughter of GOD which rightly belonged only to Him.

CHRIST expects you to follow Him and live like Him. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples (John 13: 34;35)

Imagine if CHRIST was not slow to anger- where will you be today for your sins and transgressions which were so many? Would He not expect you to do the same? Will you not be patient with your work? Be patient with your husband, your family and children- for patience will have it’s reward. Be slow to anger- Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil (Ephesians 4:26;27)

CHRIST’s goodness and faithfulness abounds your life- that’s the only reason you are saved, that’s the only reason you were born to Christian parents and that’s the only reason you are baptised in the Holy SPIRIT. It is not because of your fasting and praying. GOD’s goodness has surpassed your limitations. Now, you are called to be good, called to be faithful to every unfaithful person, to be faithful to every unfaithful member of your church.

And finally, CHRIST forgives your sins, iniquities and transgressions. Sin is forgiven with true repentance but Iniquity can be forgiven by stripes and true repentance. Transgressions call you to be judged forever. CHRIST had to die to forgive you not only from your sins but He suffered torture to clear your iniquities AND JESUS CHRIST suffered the loss of His FATHER’s presence, bore this heavy punishment to become sin to wipe away your transgressions. Now, how much do you forgive others? For only when you forgive you will be forgiven. You don’t have to forgive others if you do not need forgiveness. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (Mathew 6:14;15)

If you belong to CHRIST you must be transformed into His image each day.

When Sadhu Sundar Singh visited England in the early 1900s, he rang the door bell of a house which he had never visited before and a little girl came and answered the door bell and opened the door and looking at Sadhu, she ran to her mother and said, “Mummy, JESUS is standing at the door…” Sadhu radiated CHRIST.

Will you be that person to radiate CHRIST to this generation?
