To meditate on the “Cross” gives peace and revelation any time of the year. The last but one saying on the cross, has much to offer to us, that most often, the best part of it, redemption and hope it gives to everyone is not understood in the real sense.
The word “finished”, other than meaning a literal end, is one of the great accomplishments, achieving the goal. The Greek word “Tetelestai” also meant in the days of Christ, “paid in full” in the commerce world. Yes, Jesus did pay the full price on the Cross to redeem us from our sins infirmities and diseases.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our inequities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by his stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53: 5)
The Power of sin, satan and death were crushed under His feet by Jesus on the cross. Jesus said to His disciples: “Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10: 19).
