For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Sometimes we feel that all hope is extinguished, everyone you trusted had disappointed you. And the weight of the depression sets in so much that ending this life might seem to be the only logical option. There does not seem to be a point in anything you do. You seem to have tried every kind of pleasure that the world has to offer and yet have remained vaguely unsatisfied, wanting for more, wanting to have a completeness.

Dear brothers and sisters, if you are reading this and you find yourself in this situation, I welcome you to know Christ. In the Holy Book it is written, “In Christ was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” I am talking about a God who takes personal interest in your life, you are important to Him. He cares what you eat, what you drink, what you think, and what you do. He is the God who adores you, and is ready to wipe away your tears. He is not like other gods who demand sacrifice and penance, He is the one true God who sacrificed Himself for us. It is impossible to lead a normal and unaffected life once you experience His love and presence.

I request you to know Christ, He does not send anyone empty handed or sad. His plans for us is beyond amazing. Better than anything that we can hope for. Human beings are hardwired to hope, so losing hope or facing failure is something we dread. It goes against our natural mindset, but there is a hope for us that never perishes, this hope is in Christ.

“Dear Christ, I welcome you into the mess I am in, I do not have a way out, I give myself to you, be my Way and my life, be my hope, your plans for me is better and awesome than my own, take control of my life”. Amen.
